Statewide Burn Ban In Effect

The North Carolina Forest Service has issued a statewide burn ban effective March 28, 2026. All open burning is prohibited in Cherokee County. No permits are being issued. Violations may result in fines and suppression cost liability. Call 911 to report wildfires.
